There are times in existence when those people who write experience a phenomenon to what they call “Writer’s Rush.” Interestingly enough depending on the writer and their given daily habits this “Rush” can be inspired by any number of activities.
Agatha Christie the most prolific writer of mysteries, mayhem, and murder states that her best work comes from when she is doing the dishes. Not at all surprising! We’ve read the research that exhumes that great ideas come at a time when one is least expecting it; or, in other words when one is not thinking directly about what it is that they want to write about. For others it may be driving a car that fires the spark! To this day I have a small Dictaphone and several notepads within arm’s reach to capture those “Rush” inspired thoughts.
According to the Washington Times predicated upon research by the Pew Research Center recently reported that 30 percent of young Americans between ages 25 to 34 who once left the nest for that life of independence, college, or that infamous job now have moved back in. In fact, the “Number of young adults returning to their family homes is growing,” according to the data provided says the Washington Times.
As for us we have been debating and wondering how these people caught in this economic quagmire are going to vote come November.
We would like to add that if one were able to relive time or history – it would be interesting to see how many of these individuals returning home were in the class of 2008 campaigning for the great Barack Obama. Imagine that notion – that these young adults who left home, lived independently, finished college and three years later Mr. Hope and Changes’ administration has not only extended the worst economic times but certainly has contributed to more so with Obamacare and other ridiculous government plans.
So imagine if you will a 24 to 30 year old young adult person moving back into the parent’s home; in fact, perhaps back into the same exact room (and kept as was…before college days) that still have “Hope and Change” plastered over the walls and adorning various desks, nightstands, and maybe even windows.
Maybe it is our age, perhaps even our values-oriented way of life that we do not find Barack Obama to be inspiring at all. Reading from a personal letter recently, I am reminded of the author’s dismay as he attended a speech given by Obama at Conveyor Engineering and Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids, IA, whereupon he laid out his vision. The following is direct from the speech that President Obama gave wherein he allows for his definition of “the basic American Promise.”
“If you are willing to put in the work, the idea is that you should be able to raise a family and own a home; not go bankrupt because you got sick, because you’ve got some health insurance that helps you deal with those difficult times that you can send your kids to college; that you can put some money away for retirement. That’s all most people want. Folks don’t have unrealistic ambitions; they do believe that if they work hard they should be able to achieve that small measure of an American Dream. That’s what this country is about. That’s what you deserve (Emphasis added).
We have discussed the notion of “lowering the bar” on this site (see education) before; but the way that Barack Obama put it together at the moment in time is so indicative and illustrating of how limited the scope of potential the President of the United States see for Americans.
It is important to state this altruistic fact: The USA was not forged in 1776 with people holding a Blackberry whilst listening to music! Moreover, back during a time the first computer was revealed to the public it was near a 40 story building in size – furthermore, they did not become credit card size a month later.
In fact, if one were to take a moment and look at every aspect of human life from sun-up to sun-down one would be hard-pressed to find anything in life that hasn’t been accessorized?
We’ll continue tomorrow with whom does Barack Obama think that he is detailing what people’s ambitions are? And who is he to even mutter “This is the basic American Promise?” Seriously I ask myself daily – Who would want to follow this guy anywhere?
