WHAT IS PUBLIC POLICY..?
Shaping public policy is a complex and multifaceted process that involves the interplay of numerous individuals and interest groups competing and collaborating to influence policymakers to act in a particular way.
These individuals and groups use a variety of tactics and tools to advance their aims, including advocating their positions publicly, attempting to educate supporters and opponents, and mobilizing allies on a particular issue. Often, the need for public policy develops over time. In the past, there might have been no way to prevent the problem from occurring, but with current technologies a solution may appear. Public Policy is easier to establish when it affects smaller groups of people.
It is no surprise then why some lobbies seem to be stronger than others are. In fact this is the nexus of this article. Just because there are huge companies with treasuries full of money, gemstones, and/or priceless antiques; the fact is that these companies – or more aptly – special interest groups make their living finding out who likes what, and where, and finally when.
If only for a moment it makes good common and educational sense, to back up some of these claims. Yes there is no doubt that those given to working as lobbyists love the smaller groups of people simply because it is easy to influence a smaller group than one larger. Furthermore, it is even easier to change some language – i.e. being politically correct inasmuch as one feels more acceptances when with this common tongue they are able to see whatever the change that is being made.
This does not mean to go crazy changing up the backbone of your Nation to try to get others to believe as you do. Now for what it is worth what are the two groups in your society that are trying to educate and dominate in the hopes of achieving change.
However, this is why I try to communicate my level best to inform and with specific data show why some of the ideas brought forth by these groups may not be the best thing for you, the individual members of the group, and especially the person who benefits the most – the politician in charge.
In my lifetime as a professional the two – although they started out small, are now humongous in size – groups of people wanting the most change are the lobbyist group for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual (LGBT) group and what started out as even a smaller outfit that now dwarfs the LGBT group is now the illegal alien – give us the DREAM Act, along with the Green card, with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), and shall we mention A Pathway to Citizenship and a higher minimum wage for the work that all of you do.
I am sure that some special interest groups happen to do some good and please, please remember you read that here. However, there are some irresponsible and accountability hustlers among us. While you are at it, please do not totally freak out when some person in the flux of gender identity comes and sits next to you in the local public convenience, and I still think it is unfortunate the way the parents of these children have abandoned them.
As an academic discipline, public policy brings in elements of many social science fields and concepts, including economics, sociology, political economy, program evaluation, policy analysis, and public management, all as applied to problems of governmental administration, management, and operations.
Sociology is the study of human social behavior and its origins, development, organizations, and institutions. It is a social science which uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about human social actions, social structure, and functions.
