La Raza CEO: ‘USA! USA!’ Chants at Murrieta Protests ‘Made Me Angry’
La Raza President and CEO Janet Murguia said it sickened her to hear Americans against illegal immigration chanting “USA! USA!” at protests around the country.
Singling out the Murrieta demonstrators during her keynote address at La Raza’s annual conference in Los Angeles on Monday, Murguia accused them of having “cloaked their hatred in patriotism” by shouting “‘USA! USA!’ again and again.”
“It made me angry,” she said. “In fact, I was outraged.”
Murguia demanded that the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants who are currently here receive amnesty and said the road to the White House for Republicans goes through the Latino community and La Raza. She also said Republicans who want to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program or do not want to pass Comprehensive Amnesty Legislation will not get Hispanic votes. And she repeatedly claimed that protesting illegal immigration was “un-American.”
“What we saw in Murrieta is not patriotism,” she asserted. “It is ugly, divisive, and yet another low in a debate I thought could not get much lower.”
Our response published at FOX News and intended for education and Murguia:
This is the epitome of why we do not want to even consider “Comprehensive Amnesty Reform.” How the name got changed, or if it did officially, we would love to be very clear that this kind of anger mixed with frustration and hate are precisely the combination that leads wayward children and their parents to simply move on an assumption.
There are some very true feelings when one begins to get “outraged.” Allow me to simply itemize what I have noticed and why I would want every single illegal alien in my country to be deported back to where they came from.
It very much appears unfair, not to mention not abiding by laws when she hears Americans asserting their first amendment rights! What is wrong with that, I ask? When tens of thousands of illegal aliens decide to protest some weird ideology, what then, do you feel okay by that behavior?
Personally I am ashamed that Ms. Murguia would lower herself by using threats against future candidates with her mention of “the road to the White House” for Republicans goes through the Latino community and La Raza.
Oops! There is mistake number three (#3) for the hypocrite. Please take notice of the changes –she mentions the Latino community in one instance, then refers to La Raza obviously in order to establish that La Raza and Latino’s are not within the same community.
Moving on she states her true gut feelings about Republicans. It does not matter whatsoever what they do, I was appalled at the original legislation and the extension that is now in place. (I refer to DACA.)
Huge mistake number four (#4) with the simple utterance of Comprehensive Amnesty Legislation tells everyone where their heads are at. Number five (#5) where do Hispanics fall in the realm of La Raza? Finally, asserting that exercising one’s constitutional rights is “un-American” shows just how mean spirited and full of hate she and her organization are.
