Newspaper Editor Calls For Ferguson Protesters To Arm Themselves to Wage War Against Cops
VIA New York Post
“The time for peace has passed,” says a revolutionary editorial titled In Support of Violence that was penned by editor-in-chief Gordon Barnes in the Dec. 3 issue of The Advocate.
“The problem with the protesters’ violence in Ferguson is that it is unorganized. If the violence was to be organized, and the protesters armed — more so than the few that sparingly are — then the brunt of social pressures would not be laid onto middling proprietors [of looted small businesses], but unto those deserving the most virulent response of an enraged populace,” Barnes writes in the CUNY Grad Center’s publication.
“The acts of looting, destruction of property and violence directed towards state representatives is not only warranted, it is necessary,” says Barnes, a doctoral student in history who once studied in Cuba.
The editorial — illustrated in the online version with the circled, capital A that symbolizes anarchy — also urges rioters to emulate the Black Panthers and Malcolm X instead of Martin Luther King and other advocates of nonviolence — and hopes the unrest will morph into a revolution.]
Just a sidebar using the Socratic method as well as let’s ask from our critical, analytical, and methodology oriented minds. Allow me to start us off with a few questions to assist us in why a person would say such nonsense.
For CLAIRIFICATION one should ask along the lines of: What do you mean by “arming one’s self and wage a violent war with cops?” Or asking in a different way such as: “Could you put that another way” and this last question separates real purpose against the ordinary church mouse: “Can you give me an example?”
The editor-in-chief Gordon Barnes wrote the article called In Support of Violence that distinguishes his unethical mind with such lines as, “The time for peace has passed.” Unfortunately for anyone who reads his manifesto of a maniac gets treated by the academic warlord simply using his words in the third paragraph.
Quite openly Gordon Barnes is stating, I’m bored with you lot, how about you arm up and wage war against the police? Rather than being unorganized whereby all one is netting is what you are stealing from the proprietors of looted small business’ so hey! organize and let’s give em’ those deserving blah, blah, blah, of an enraged populace.
However, typically a fool who gets more room to say more or write more he tries to further escalate hostilities by turning the focus on state representatives who he believes is warranted and necessary.
We should advance our Socratic method further to get this fool to stop his foolish ways. Further questions that probe for ASSUMPTIONS, REASONS and EVIDENCE, VIEWPOINTS and PERSPECTIVES, and getting this foolish clown to recognize what some of the CONSEQUENCES are or could be.
