“Lights of the World”

Being “Lights of the World”

4429_strength[2].gifCan you believe that this month is closer to ending than when it first began! I cannot explain it; it is either my new book, the slowly clearing weather, or simply, “my how time flies when we are having fun.” Whatever it is I have decided to expose a different side of my life through my writing here.

I wouldn’t say that the concept is all that knew — insofar as there are lots and lots of folks out there who have been reading this blog for any number of years and anyone who follows now should know to a minor degree how important my faith is to me and frankly, the rest of the world.

Therefore, I have taken some scripture that I would like to share with everyone who happens by The Contemplative Thinker. It is called, The unfolding of Thy words give Light

This is the message we have heard from Him…God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. God, who said, Light shall shine out of darkness, is the One who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. The Word was God. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Thy word I have treasured in my heart that I may not sin against Thee. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

You were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord, walk as children of light. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

For some reason I can’t help but think of the founding generation as I read His words.
