Thomas Homan deports people. And he’s really good at it. With respect to the primary author of this article — Lisa Rein, we here at The Contemplative Thinker do have some issues with the writing so we thought we would ask you our readers. First, what makes Thomas Homan “really good at” deporting illegal aliens?
Homan is the Washington bureaucrat in charge of rounding up, detaining and kicking illegal immigrants out of the country. As Americans fight over whether the next president should build a wall on the Mexico border to keep migrants out or protect millions of them from deportation, Homan is actually hunting undocumented immigrants down right now, setting strategy for 8,000 officers on the front lines.
Who are these 8,000 officers on “what” front lines? If in fact, “rounding up, detaining and kicking illegal immigrants out of the country” is Mr. Homan’s job how do you see the discrepancies or as President Obama would call it, “we have been really creative with the numbers”?
He was honored last week with the government’s highest civil service award, bestowed on federal leaders whose work gets “extraordinary” results. According to his bosses at the Department of Homeland Security, not only did Homan successfully handle an unexpected surge of unaccompanied children and families who have streamed here from Central America across the Southwest border, but last year his operations set records for expelling illegal immigrants with criminal records.
Two issues matter within the above paragraph. What exactly did Mr. Homan do to handle a well known surge of unaccompanied children other than to use every available abanded military instillation, or are we discussing the protestor’s in areas such as Colorado, California, Arizona and New Mexico? The other issue of course addresses House Bill 2 (HB2) that has been in the process of releasing or commuting the felony arrest records of some 26,000 illegal’s in jail.
Who is this writer trying to fool? Herself maybe. We are requesting that Ms. Lisa Rein provide us with her source documentation to verify this rubbish.
Here is an article by Jerry Markon for the Washington Post dated July 2, 2015:
The Obama administration has begun a profound shift in its enforcement of the nation’s immigration laws, aiming to hasten the integration of long-term illegal immigrants into society rather than targeting them for deportation, according to documents and federal officials.
In recent months, the Department of Homeland Security has taken steps to ensure that the majority of the United States’ 11.3 million undocumented immigrants can stay in this country, with agents narrowing enforcement efforts to three groups of illegal migrants: convicted criminals, terrorism threats or those who recently crossed the border.
Now you know why I take the personal responsibility to source out all details before writing an article.
