What an Experience!
“But first, are you experienced,” sang Jimi Hendrix in his monumental break-out album, Are You Experienced, was close to how I felt watching the Presidential News Briefing today as a riveting display of rabid communication skills were launched at Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Presidential Press Secretary during today’s briefing.
Sanders fielded several questions on the issue during Thursday’s press briefing, repeatedly deflecting blame onto Democrats. But CNN’s Jim Acosta and Playboy’s Brian Karem pressed Sanders on the morality of the policy.
When Acosta asked Sanders about Attorney General Jeff Sessions citing the Bible as justification for separating families, Sanders did not directly address Sessions’ comments, but added that “it is very biblical to enforce the law.”
Now, what more can a person ask for? But no – the rage continued, “Where in the Bible does it say that it’s OK to take children away from their parents?” Acosta interjected. “You just said it’s in the Bible to follow the law.”
“I know it’s hard for you to understand even short sentences, I guess, but please don’t take my words out of context,” Sanders retorted.
She sure showed some resilience there as well as patience. I am truly afraid that I would be fit to be tied down! Is it a difficult measure for this Acosta to understand that Press Secretary Sanders did not mention the scripture that Sessions had previously quoted?
“How is it a moral policy to take children away from their parents,” Acosta asked. “Can you imagine the horror that these children must be going through when they’re coming across the border? Why is the government doing this?”
Allow me to say this first. The Democrat Party has done little to nothing to produce an attempt at legislation – even writing up new laws and/or policies or acts. They sit, do nothing, and vote and unequivocal “Nay” or No when it is time for a legitimate change.
And again today, Sanders echoed the president’s frequent line of attack, laying blame on Democrats for the policy. Sanders charged Democratic lawmakers with failing to address flawed immigration laws.
As I watched her in action, I was mesmerized by her calm and the way she fielded questions from these two utterly rude and arrogant men.
“Come on, Sarah. You’re a parent. Don’t you have any empathy for what these people are going through?” he asked.
Sanders circumvented the question, saying, “I know you want to get some more TV time but that’s not what this is about.”
This is from your humble author, what does it take to stop illegal immigrants from trying to gain access into the country? These people are well-aware of the law and the separation process during the detainment process. I, personally, would not be a popular man if it were my decision, but landmines are an alternative.
In this nation with all of the “Firsts” happening like having more job opportunities that people being unemployed, tax-cuts that are benefitting the middle class and below, a president who cares about foreign policy and national security, who literally does things to see to it that he is working on making this a better, stronger America, who just two or three days ago had a summit with a personally assessed human civil rights ender, and now has China and Russia on their heels. It’s time for a good media report and at least a job well-done.
